1. Introduction

Lambda AI Solutions LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Uptown Swipe mobile application (the "App"). This page explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have regarding that data.

Uptown Swipe serves two categories of users: Tulane students and verified landlords. Some eligibility rules and features differ between these two groups, as described below.

2. Information We Collect

A. Personal Data

While using the App, we may collect the following personally identifiable information:

  • Email address, collected through your sign-in provider
  • First and last name, collected through your sign-in provider
  • Profile photo and any additional gallery photos you upload
  • Bio text you write
  • Class year or graduation year
  • Instagram handle (optional)
  • Housing preferences, including budget, dates, and distance from campus
  • Swipe activity, including your housing swipes and roommate swipes
  • In-app message content and read receipts
  • Free-text feedback you submit through the in-app rating prompt
  • Device identifiers, used specifically for push notifications

B. Authentication Data (Single Sign-On)

We use Firebase Authentication to verify your identity through the following providers:

  • Google Sign-In is used for landlord accounts and is not restricted to a Tulane email address.
  • Microsoft Sign-In and legacy email sign-in are used for student accounts and require a valid @tulane.edu email address.
  • Apple Sign-In is available to both students and landlords.

These services provide us with information such as your name and email address to set up your account.

3. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we use the Expo Push Service and Firebase Cloud Messaging to send updates and alerts to your device. To do this we collect a unique push token generated by your device. You can opt out at any time through your device settings.

4. Photos and Uploaded Content

Photos you upload, including profile photos, additional profile photos, and listing photos for landlords, are stored using Firebase Storage.

5. How Your Information Is Visible to Others

Some information you provide is visible beyond our team:

  • Your profile information, including your name, photos, bio, Instagram handle, and class year, is visible to other signed-in users of the App.
  • Property listings are publicly viewable and can be seen by anyone without signing in.

Please keep this in mind when deciding what to include in your profile and listings.

6. Messaging

The App lets you send direct messages to other users. We store message content and related metadata, such as read receipts and conversation records, so that the messaging feature works. Message content is visible only to the participants in that conversation.

7. Reporting and Safety

You can report or block other users from within the App. When you submit a report, it is reviewed by our team, and the report includes your email address so that we can follow up if needed.

8. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the App
  • Notify you about changes to the service
  • Let you use interactive features such as swiping and messaging
  • Provide customer support
  • Review reports and moderate the App for safety
  • Keep basic usage timestamps, such as when an account was last active, for support and moderation

We do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools.

9. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following third-party services:

  • Google Firebase: for authentication, database hosting, and file storage
  • Google: for landlord authentication through Google Sign-In
  • Expo (650 Industries, Inc.): for push notification delivery
  • Apple Inc.: for authentication and App Store services
  • Microsoft: for authentication

10. Data Deletion Rights

Under privacy laws including the GDPR and CCPA, you have the right to request deletion of your data.

To request deletion, email us at louis@LambdaAISolutions.com and ask us to delete all records associated with your email address. Deletion requests are processed manually by our team within 30 business days.

11. Security of Data

We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for data in transit and rely on the secure infrastructure of Google Firebase for data at rest. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
